My Archies Flip Flops are too hard, what do I do?Updated 13 hours ago
Archies Flip Flops have a patented footbed that molds to the shape of your feet as you wear them. When they are new, the material still needs to soften and shape to suit your feet. This could also be a reason for the arch feeling uncomfortable for some. Don't worry, with wear, this will improve!
How to wear them in
The best way to customize the footbed of Archies Flip Flops to your feet is to gradually wear them in. We recommend wearing them for 20 mins a day. This will allow the footbed to mold to your feet with minimal discomfort. It will also give your feet time to adapt to the support.
Short on time or perhaps find the arch too high? Heat molding sorts it out!
Archies Flip Flops are made from a special form of foam that responds to heat. When heated, the material will become soft and moldable, so heating them and then standing on them will customize the footbed to your feet. If the strap and toe pole is feeling tight, we also recommend stretching them while the material is warm.
Here's how to heat mold your Archies Flip Flops
1. Place the pair on a flat surface - make sure there is nothing flammable in the vicinity.
2. Position the hair dryer 3cm away from the straps.
3. Turn on the hair dryer and heat up the straps for 45 seconds. You can move it slowly across the straps so the heat distributes evenly. Make sure that it's not too close to the straps so that it doesn't cause them to wilt or wither.
4. Stand on the flip flops as quickly as possible, trying to put all of your body weight into the flip flops, particularly trying to squash down the areas where the arch feels too high.
5. Do this for about 3-4 minutes. It's often good to transfer weight from one leg to the other so that the majority of the body weight goes through the flip flops for a period.
You can repeat this as many times as necessary until the flip flops have molded perfectly to your feet.
