Are Archies Flip Flops and Slides hard or soft?Updated 11 days ago

Most people put on their Archies Footwear and find them instantly comfortable! However for some people, it may feel a little firm, however after a few wears the footbed will mold to the shape of your foot making it even more comfortable, and you will find it will soften. This doesn't take long at all.

If they do feel a little firm we suggest giving them a little 'wear-in time'. Wearing your Archies Flip Flops and Slides for 20 minutes at a time for two weeks or so and they will feel super comfy!

We also have a heat molding technique we can suggest if they are still too firm after you have worn them a few times.

What is the heat mold technique?

Archies Flip Flops and Slides are made from a special form of foam that responds to heat. When heated, the material will become soft and moldable, so heating them and then standing on them will customize the footbed to your feet. If the strap and toe pole and/or the band are feeling tight, we also recommend stretching them while the material is warm.

How to heat mold your Archies Flip Flops and Slides

1. Place the pair on a flat surface - make sure there is nothing flammable in the vicinity.

2. Position the hair dryer 3cm away from the straps or bands.

3. Turn on the hair dryer and heat up the straps for 45 seconds. You can move it slowly across the straps so the heat distributes evenly. Make sure that it's not too close to the straps so that it doesn't cause them to wilt or wither.

4. Stand on the flip flops or slides as quickly as possible, trying to put all of your body weight into the flip flops or slides, particularly trying to squash down the areas where the arch feels too high.

5. Do this for about 3-4 minutes. It's often good to transfer weight from one leg to the other so that the majority of the body weight goes through the flip flops or slides for a period.

You can repeat this as many times as necessary until the footwear has molded perfectly to your feet.
